As AI quicky transforms the way we live our day-to-day lives I thought it important to discuss how AI tools can help you with your conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
AI may not be as ubiquitous in the world of conversion rate optimisation as it is elsewhere just yet, but that is rapidly changing. To not take advantage of these tools now is likely to leave you falling behind. But don’t worry, I’ve compiled a short list that will help you get up to speed with the world of AI tools for CRO fast.
1. AI for quick and easy Shopify A/B testing - Shoplift
Shoplift the A/B testing platform for Shopify, uses AI driven ‘Lift Assist’ to suggest countdown timers, sticky carts and inventory indicators based on millions of shopper sessions.
These are more than just pre-built sections, they are ready-to-launch ‘tests in a box’ pixel-perfect matched to your theme, so no customization or skinning is required. This saves you time and money designing and building widgets for you’re A/B test.
You can easily test the new widget direct through Shoplift and if the widget wins, you can choose this variation to become your primary version, super simple! Plus, even if you cancel your Shoplift subscription the winning widgets stay so you never lose out.
2. AI for user surveys - Hotjar

User surveys on your site are a fantastic way to gather valuable feedback. Writing them and interpreting the results however can take a long time. Hotjar’s latest AI for surveys is one of the reasons we are proud to be Hotjar partners. Hotjar’s survey AI tool will write your survey for you in a matter of seconds and then cut down the time-consuming task of crunching the data.
3. AI for messaging optimisation - Anyword
Anyword uses AI to help you create better performing copy. As well as generating copy from scratch and letting you know how well it thinks it will perform, it allows you to upload your own copy and receive suggestions on how to make it better resonate with your target audience. By providing what it believes will perform best you can increase the chance of A/B messaging test success!
4. AI conversational tool - Leadoo

We all know personalisation is a buzz word in optimisation right now and for good reason. Users are expecting a personalised experience more and more.
Leadoo offers an AI driven conversational tool that guides users along a journey, personalising their experience on a site. When a user engages with the conversational tool they may be directed towards a specific page on the site, the tool will know they have viewed that page and respond to the user accordingly when they next interact.
Another way Leadoo can personalise the user experience is by guiding users through quiz-style questions to help get them to the most relevant content for them. For example, guiding them to the perfect holiday destination based on their answers to a series of questions. This speeds up the decision-making process and helps get the most relevant content in front of the user’s eyes, something that may have otherwise not happened.
Unlike ChatGPT, Leadoo is specifically trained on the content of your site, so you can be sure that the answers to users’ questions are going to be correct. It really is a great AI tool to invest in.
5. Watch this space – Webtrends Optimize

Webtrends Optimize is an A/B testing and personalisation platform with in-built surveys and social proofing tools that plans to roll out an increasing amount of AI across its features in 2025.
Currently, AI powers their Recommendations Engine (which provides personalised product recommendations for users on e-commerce stores), multi-armed bandit experiment traffic allocation, and multi variant testing calculations.
Moving forward, Webtrends Optimize are working on a whole host of new features including:
- Generative AI for imagery: Helping users find alternative imagery to test faster.
- Copilot for coding: Detecting errors in test code and suggesting fixes.
- Propensity modelling and intent prediction: Being able to predict how likely users are to do an action so that experiments can be targeted at high or low intent users.
- Anomaly detection: Automatic detection of outlying data during testing to spot errors and poor conversions from subsegments.
- Automated insights: Key data insights being automatically generated so you don’t need to spend as long applying filters to discover findings.
- Generative AI for PowerPoint: The ability to create a PowerPoint presentation that details the data and a narrative about what has been observed to save on time reporting.
Summary
So, there you have it, 5 AI tools for conversion rate optimisation. I hope they help you; smash your Shopify A/B testing, gain some serious survey insights, master your messaging, become a personalisation pro, and look forward to an AI enhanced testing suite.
